Fundamentals of Wine: Spain!
An educational wine & food experience

Wine, cuisine trends, even actors, celebrities, olympians and race-car drivers--we are living in the NEW Age of Spain.

With grapes first cultivated in 4,000 BC, Spain's first foray into winemaking predates most of Europe. The Roman's called it Hispania, and imported more of its wine during the Empire than was produced in their home of Italy.

Today, Spain has witnessed the emergence of a new generation of master winemakers who have learned to blend tradition and quality with innovation. Nowhere can one find better wines at such a value than here!

Sit back and relax as your sommelier instructor sets the stage for an unforgettable, educational wine and cuisine experience. Our wine classes provide a unique context for the enjoyment of wine appropriate for every level of interest and expertise. Taste wine as it was meant to be enjoyed, paired to perfection with regional bites.

Throughout the evening, you will learn about the history, culture and language of wine through visual presentations, commentary and anecdotes from our personal experiences. And best of all, you’ll leave us with greater confidence, passion and understanding of the grapes so you can ultimately experience the pleasure of wine.

Join us for an in-depth tasting of this diverse wine producer.  We'll taste 6-8 wines and have a taste of authentic regional bites such as:

- Basque sheep cheese & quince paste
- Manchego stuffed dates wrapped in Serrano
- Toasted marcona almonds
- And more!

Class will include:

- Learn about Spain's key geographic wine areas: Basque, Green Spain (Galicia), Meseta, Andalucia, Catalon
- Understand key points of Spain's top wines: Rioja, Cava, and Sherry
- Learn Spanish wine terminology including Calimocho, Rebujito, and Carajillo
- Six to Eight wines for tasting
- Authentic tapas for sampling to accompany the wines

This class will be held at Vino Venue, home of Atlanta Wine School, located at:
