Off the Beaten Path: Oregon Wine Trail
An educational wine & food experience

Summary:

Oregon is on a roll! When Oregon’s wine pioneers looked out across the state’s varied landscape in the 1840s they saw what others didn’t: a perfect place for wine. Not only has Oregon established an international reputation for its production of world-class wine, ranking fourth in the United States, but as wine writer Eric Asimov of The New York Times recently wrote  “Oregon is right now the single most exciting winemaking area in the United States.”

Why is this little wine region, just 1percent of the total U.S. wine production, making such a big impression across the country? Join us to explore the richness of Oregon’s unique terroir, varied climate, passionate winemakers, wide variety of grapes from Arneis to Zinfandel and a taste of the region’s mouthwatering farm-to-table cuisine. Experience the fine wines and pioneering spirit of Oregon in an educational, interactive tasting of unexpected whites, legacy pinot noir and delightful surprises in between.

Sit back and relax as your sommelier instructor sets the stage for an unforgettable, educational wine and food experience. Our wine classes provide a unique context for the enjoyment of wine appropriate for every level of interest and expertise. Taste wine as it was meant to be enjoyed, paired to perfection with Chef’s regional recipes.

Throughout the evening, you will learn about the history, culture and language of Oregon wine through visual presentations, commentary and anecdotes from our personal experiences. And best of all, you’ll leave us with greater confidence, passion and understanding of the grapes so you can ultimately experience the pleasure of wine.

Class will include:

-7 to 8 Oregon wines for varying styles
-Chef's choice of appetizers
-Chef's choice of complementary tastes paired with the wines
-Learn about Oregon's wine production & varietal diversity

-Better understand Oregon's diverse geology
-Learn about Oregon's microclimates
